General Information
Among St.Petersburg's most memorable attractions is the comfort and hospitality provided by the Grand hotel Europe. This is the first 5-Star hotel opened in the Soviet Union with traditions dating back to 1824, the year if its construction. Thoroughly renovated and restored to its former glory, the hotel was re-opened in 1991. Since 1994 the hotel was nominated as the best hotel in the Eastern Europe. In 1999 Grand Hotel Europe was awarded with The five star diamond award. As from February 2005 the hotel is owned by Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises. It is just on Nevsky Prospekt, the city's main thoroughfare, and opposite the Grand Philharmonic Hall. The main city's attractions are within a walking distance from the hotel.
