General Information
Heron Island is a true coral cay right on the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Here, guests can swim straight off the sandy beach to an endless garden of coral, where the waters are literally teeming with beautifully coloured fish and marine life. The family-friendly resort has 109 guest rooms, and facilities include a reception hall, hotel safe, currency exchange, Internet access, laundry service and, for an additional fee, a kids' club. Conference facilities are also available. Launch transfer: The launch operates daily between Heron Island and Gladstone Marina. A complimentary coach will transport guests between Gladstone Marina and Gladstone Airport. This service does not operate on Christmas Day.
Reception is open from 8:30 am to 7 pm (8:30 am to 6 pm during autumn/winter). Helicopter: Australian Helicopters depart from Gladstone Airport daily, on demand during daylight hours. The flight time to the resort is 30 minutes.
