Built in 1700 and remodeled in 2001, Grand Florence is a deluxe 5 star boutique hotel located in the city center overlooking the Arno River featuring Florentine style rooms with frescoes/ tapestries and unique views. Located on Piazza Ognissanti, the Grand Hotel stands in the heart of the historic centre within walking distance from the most famous works of art and the elegant shopping area.
The hotels design expresses the typical elements of the renaissance Florentine architecture. The fine decor and the precious marble and the stain glass gives the Grand Hotel an imprint of fine and unique elegance. The hotel during the Renaissance age has been the formal residence of noble and important families among them the most famous has been the Medici family which ran the city as an independent state for more than three centuries.
During the mid 18 century the building was transformed into a hotel called -Grand Hotel Royal De La Paix. It became part of the Ciga group in 1957 and the hotel was closed in 1974 until 1986. During those years the Grand Hotel had been completely restored and renovated bringing the building back to the splendor of its glorious days. The public areas are richly furbished with pieces of antiques, decorated with the finest Italian marbles and precious stain glass give the Grand Hotel an elegant and unique atmosphere.
